I used the term “gamify” in a sermon yesterday. I avoided the use of the word “ethnogamification” as
a) that’s not what I was actually talking about,
b) I like to limit how weird people think I am until they get to know me better.

The basic idea was to explore the ‘rules’ of how we ‘play’ church, to look at how Jesus took rules for righteousness to the next level in the Sermon on the Mount and to say that what we think and do matters but that what Jesus has done matters even more.

Riverside church is very good at getting sermons online quickly so the full talk is already available at https://soundcloud.com/riverside-church-1/pete-brassington-playing-church

In preparing the sermon I came across a great chart highlighting where parts of the Sermon on the Mount are included in the other gospels and adapted it in The Sermon on the Mount: Remixed to link to the references using the NIV.
